Meet Your Curl Specialist

Welcome! I’m Kaylah Johnston – the heart behind Kurlessence and a curl specialist based in my cozy studio suite in Orléans, Ontario.

Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to creating a space where curls are not just managed, but truly celebrated. My own journey with textured hair inspired me to build a studio rooted in education, empowerment, and genuine care. From precise dry cutting to personalized curl coaching, everything I do is about helping you reconnect with your natural texture and fall in love with the hair you were born with.

I wanted to try a dry cut because my hair is very wavy underneath and less wavy on top, and I've struggled to get a cut that worked well.
